Day trip. You. Me. Rocks?!

Over all these years one of the most common questions I get asked is, “Where do you get your crystals and mineral specimens?”.

Well, maybe I can show you.

Every January I hike (in my car) from Los Angeles to AZ to shop for rocks for the year.

In that time, I’ve developed good relationships with some awesome rock hounds, privately owned mines and their owners, and other veterans who have been in the trade a long while which affords me some discounted purchasing abilities.

If you and maybe a friend have been interested in doing a good day trip, spending 6 hours dedicated to shopping for discounted rocks in a glorified tent city, but just don’t know how to get started, perhaps you’d be up for meeting me out in the desert. We can hang while I give you a tour, the lay of the land, some coffee/tea, and the offer of my personal discount from several selected vendors.

I would ask for a per person fee ($55-$75)for the day and could offer around 6 slots I’m thinking. Anymore might hold us up from seeing everything.

Is this anything ya’ll might be up for? There’s really only two weekends in January to do it while the majority of vendors are still there, so I’m looking at the 9th as realistic first day.

I’m testing the waters here with this poll, so lemme know what you think.

A heavy year of shows in 2025 is winding down and we have one last date with O&C in Sacramento, CA coming up next weekend and our final show of the year over Thanksgiving weekend at the Rio Grande Art Fair Holiday Show in ABQ, NM.

What a fun and whimsical day dedicated to the celebration of natural history at . So happy to have had the most incredible booth neighbors and and to have been able to share my grandfather’s Captured Flight pendants with a new audience as well as some long time supporters and just talk about the magical beauty that is nature.
