Trying to make every run faster doesn't always make you better.

When you rush your dismount, approach to the goat, or your tie, mistakes can pop up anywhere. Slow down enough to make every part of your run intentional. Focus on clean movements, good positioning, and doing things the right way each time.

The goal in practice isn't to see how fast you can get through a run. It's to build a routine you can trust when the pressure is on.

Clean. Consistent. Confident. Then work in some speed little at a time! 🐐

There's one more full day of the National High School Finals Rodeo in Lincoln, NE. We were able to hear from the Reserve All-Around Champion from Wyoming about her experience with Ty Tuff.

What a fun day in Reva, SD! 🤍🐐

A huge thank you to Brad and Amy Johnson for hosting a mini clinic dedicated to the future of goat tying! This day was all about the littles and those just beginning their goat tying journey.

We slowed things down, focused on the fundamentals, and worked on building the correct foundation and basic techniques they can continue to grow from. Watching these kids learn, gain confidence, and celebrate so many firsts made the day rewarding and my heart happy!

There were lots of smiles and plenty of “aha!” moments. Being able to play a small part in the very beginning of these kids’ goat tying careers is something I never take for granted. I think it’s safe to say a few more kids left absolutely hooked on goat tying! 💪🏻🐐

Thanks again to everyone who came out, worked hard, and made it such a great day. I can’t wait to watch these kids continue to grow and improve!

Big shout out to my sister Moody who helped out throughout the day!

Too many competitors treat their first run like the only run. Instead, focus on making four quality runs. A clean run and a solid time each round will often beat one blazing-fast run followed by runs with bobbles.

Think marathon, not sprint.

⚡️Trust your fundamentals.
⚡️Let consistency do the work.

Pressure is a privilege.

If you’re feeling nervous, it means you’ve worked your way into a moment that matters. Not everyone gets that opportunity. Pressure shows up when you’ve put in the time, earned your spot, and have something worth showing.

Instead of fearing pressure, learn to embrace it.

Those butterflies? That adrenaline? It’s your body getting to perform at its best. Trust your training, lean into the moment, and remember – you’re there for a reason.

The best competitors don’t avoid pressure, they rise to it.
