Steady rain, no walk on this Friday morning. After my first cup of Peet's I'm putting the booking agent hat on for a while before I head in to GC from 4-9 today.

And ..... a quick reminder for my Buffalo and Rochester area friends who are fans of The Kennedys (and me!) - I will be opening their show tomorrow night at Cafe Veritas, 220 S.Winton Street, Rochester, NY, at 7:30 pm. Ticket link is in the first comment.

Every year, the Great Davey O'Lantern rises from the pumpkin patch and brings music to all the good boys and girls! It's going to be a scary good month ahead!!!

Happy Friday friends! After a nice morning walk with Sheila, we began the start of our long birthday weekend (hers is tomorrow, mine is on Monday). While I have the opportunity, I wanted to remind my friends in the Rochester area that one week from tomorrow, I will be returning to Cafe Veritas to open for the wonderful husband/wife folk rock duo, The Kennedys, touring in support of their new album, "Smoketree". An early birthday gift for me would be if the show sold out, and I'm sure that Pete and Maura would be quite happy about that as well!

So much gratitude to everyone who made this beautiful Wednesday evening of celebrating the craft of songwriting and the art of storytelling possible. It was wonderful to see so many folks out on a weeknight, and to see so many familiar faces, many of whom I have not seen in a while.

After Binghamton on Saturday, tonight at The Caz, and what's coming up over the next couple of months, I could get used to these kind of shows very easily.....

Wednesday, "Hump Day" greetings from the woods....

My first morning wearing a cold weather beanie. 47 degrees helped push me towards that decision, although I could have worn a baseball cap and pulled my hood over my head like I did yesterday.

I had a feeling it would be a good morning for deer sightings, especially after Sheila opened the shade over our kitchen window to discover seven deer making their way through our backyard and the ones behind ours, playfully chasing each other around. It didn't take long to have an encounter with the two bucks I've been seeing over the last couple of weeks, getting video (which I am unable to share at the same time with photos on this page) and some close ups.

It was incredibly quiet on the paths, with only a pair of encounters with regular dog walkers, and then a third one with Bob, our retired math professor neighbor. We walked and talked as I made my homestretch. At one point, this frightened kitty hauled ass past me after I tried to get it to come over to me. I hope it has a home..... 😞

Overall, the long stretches of walking briskly without interruption, allowed me to clear my head for the day, and for tonight's co-billed show at The Caz with Teddy Long at 7 pm. Looking forward to another listening room show, and to have the opportunity in my hometown.
