City of Night Buffalo ELAB presents CITY of NIGHT, July 18,2015. ART. HISTORY. CULTURE. SUSTAINABILITY. Donations accepted at the gate, all are welcome. What will we do with the dawn?

CITY of NIGHT is a one-night multi-disciplinary arts event with themes of Art, History, Culture and Sustainability. It features installations and projections in/outside the industrial buildings of the Old First Ward, live performance in the form of sound art, theater, and dance, an art fair, a themed art show, food trucks, beer and wine tent, bike valet, and myriad ways to interact creatively with

Buffalo's historic Old First Ward neighborhood. The event was created by Emerging Leaders in the Arts Buffalo (ELAB), and this is our fourth year. CITY of NIGHT signifies the darkness that Buffalo and other similar places have experienced in the late 20th century, and where we're going, not only here but regionally, nationally, and internationally. Buffalo is evolving rapidly, awakening from its slumber, but some shadows remain. We seek to investigate the CITY of NIGHT and its symbolic or literal meanings. We are creative place-makers, rejuvenating the forgotten and threatened with the power of art.

Dana Saylor, co-creator of CITY of NIGHT, is now mentoring DIY community changemakers who want to do cool projects in their neighborhood, village or city. Whether you'd love to build a giant art party in a grain elevator, or a simple community garden, if you have a "mission that matters" for your project, then you'll want to sign up for her FREE "Funding & Influence Bootcamp" starting Monday at noon eastern time!

If you feel like you missed your chance to fall into Narnia, visit Hogwarts, or quest after the dark crystal, you should visit The Keyhole on September 7/8th. It has been created by a magical group of artists and poets, many of whom brought you City of Night, Cirque de la Lune, and Teslafest.

The large interactive installation will be open to all at Music Is Art, and if you want to beat the crowds, support our kickstarter (link below) and get a ticket to our VIP preview night next Friday.

Art that you can experience, enter-into and engage-with is at the threshold: The Keyhole Project is a journey into and beyond yourself.

ELAB, the volunteer arts nonprofit that brought you City of Night, has a bunch of extra black City of Night t-shirts we are giving away. If you can stop by our “ELABrary” at 225 Louisiana Street TODAY at 4:30, you can have one! Text co-founder Dana Saylor at 315-525-7474 if you or a friend plan to come by. We will be there only till 5pm, And might have one other day available in the coming weeks, but we’re not sure.

What a fun night, three years ago at our last CITY of NIGHT at the grain elevators- VIP preview night was a great time to take a breath, and prepare for the insanity that was our 2014. What a team, what an accomplishment together with ALL the volunteers and friends! I always feel intense gratitude when I look back on these events. 😍🙌🏻
