The Knitting Artist

The Knitting Artist The Knitting Artist is a small business focusing on hand dyed yarns to match the unique oil paintings of Lisa Urban.

Currently available locally in BCS at the Frame Gallery in downtown Bryan. Lisa Urban - The Knitting Artist - is a knitter and painter focusing on unique products for knitters. Her oil paintings explore surrealistic worlds made up of knitted forms and have become the basis for her unique hand-dyed yarns. Each skein is hand-painted to match a specific oil painting from her portfolio with vibrant, b

eautiful colors. Besides yarn, she also sells custom "drawn" shoes, watercolor knitted greeting cards and books, stitch markers, fun "yarnbombed" postcards and much more. Check her out on Etsy for all your knitting gift needs!

Everytime I finish a project, if there is yarn left (and 99% of the time there is), I add a few rows to my ten stitch blanket. This is a fun way of holding onto the memory of each project while creating something bright and beautiful. When will it be done? I’m not sure- I’m already on year four.
(I mean it could be bigger but I don’t want to use up all my leftover yarn in case it can ever be used in another project…).

It’s been quiet here. This teacher had a long May and no time to dye. So I’m excited to share I have a few new turpentine skeins heading to , available starting Tuesdays. These are all one-of-a-kind (OOAK) and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
I have decided these will not be listed online. Tracking inventory on these is hard and I want to be able to offer something exclusive to my booth.

Feeling bubbly and caffeinated today as I photograph my latest top.
“Backlit” tee by (who btw is a favorite designer of mine!).
Yarn is “Fuchsienbeet” and “200 Bebe color” for the body. I loved watching the colors shift in both yarns as I worked and the pattern had just enough colorwork to keep my busy. 10/10 would knit again!

Yarn is “Half and Half” (half merino, half cotton).
This was fun. You knit it inside out so you don’t have to purl so much. I am grateful for that!

Hey B/CS! The fiber festival may be over but you can still get a great selection of handdyed yarn in your own neighborhood.
Pop by Tue-Sat to grab some squishy, beautiful yarn or high quality needles and notions.
I may not be a big store, but I love providing high quality items to our community. Pop by to see what the hype is all about!
