Midcoast Maine Arts

Midcoast Maine Arts A clearinghouse page for the arts and events of Midcoast Maine, from Yarmouth to Rockland This page has a reach from Freeport to Rockland, inclusive.

Midcoast Maine Arts was born of a perceived need for artists to have a central place to communicate their interests. These interests could include sharing a call for art, an opening of an anticipated show, a new website- whatever would be beneficial to the creative community of Midcoast Maine and those who are enamored with it. There are many talented artists, art events and activities going on i

n other areas of the state. This is a loose knit page meant to share information and resources. Whereas the posts to the page are available to all to give, it is requested that posts be time appropriate and focused on benefits to the artistic community, whether that be in music, film, two or three dimensional media, or performing arts. We look forward to sharing knowledge with the community and look forward to this being a two way benefit. Let us know what's going on in your artistic life!

This is a fun thing to do at any age.

❗️ SHOW REMINDER ❗️

HOMEGROWN ft. Mike Van Summern & Sagittarius Rising

June 17th, 7:30pm

Mike Van Summern is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose music is deeply rooted in American Roots traditions. Originally from Gardiner, Maine, Mike studied performance at Berklee College of Music, and also spent time living in Portland, Maine, where he worked as a bass and guitar player for several local blues bands.

In 2014, Mike moved to Austin, Texas, where he spent nearly a decade performing, honing his craft, and making a name for himself in the Austin music scene. In the fall of 2023, Mike returned home to Maine, where he now performs regularly across the state, both as a solo act and with his band, Mike Van Summern and Tejas Blues.

Sagittarius Rising is twin sister duo Isabelle and Phoebe Rogers from Western Maine. Together they create uplifting, original music inspired by nature and the imagination with vocal harmonies, guitar, penny whistle and percussion. They are also artists and award-winning filmmakers, blending their music soundtracks with artistic visuals. Sagittarius Rising believes that music is a powerful way to ignite positive change in the world.
