Another “baby” was seen out and about in the real world all grown up and making a stylish woman’s feet happy. She also wore leopard print on her clothes and purse! This is the Bliss style by SAS Shoemakers which I designed the colorway for. I remember being super proud of my work on this style with keeping to my gut instinct that the animal cheetah or leopard rosette print would be popular. There was some hesitance that it may be too “wild”. 🥁Over a decade later, the trend continues to be strong and I think it a safe to say that animal print is here to stay as a staple item neutral. 🐆

The woman asked me how I can tell it was a shoe I designed as there are so many similar styles. I explained it was like a mother would know her child from the crowd. You spend so much time in design and development of a style that the project becomes your “baby”.

It is always a nice surprise to see one of your “babies” (shoes that I product managed) while out and about in the real world, all grown up and being worn by a Gen Z-er!!! This little bo**ie is called the Jade in its black colorway. With a zip-up entry and moccasin construction with soft analine cowhide and soft poron cushioning, you can see why her shoes are so well worn in.
