Let's go back to where the dream actually started. 7 years ago, I read a fiction book, fell down a circus rabbit hole, and quietly dreamed of being part of a traveling circus/carnival. It felt impossible, so I kept it deep down and told absolutely no one.
Cut to last year: I randomly blurted out part of it during a work icebreaker. Hearing "You want to be a carny?" from my shocked coworkers was pretty fun. (And yes, I do). Not long after, a close friend pushed me to look up classes again and I finally signed up.
I showed up to Day 1 nervous and excited. I was completely new, overweight, and even though I’m strong, I didn't think I'd be strong enough. I expected to just go over safety rules, but as you can see in these photos, we were actually up on the fabric doing real work immediately.
I left completely exhausted and officially renaming myself "Sky Jello". I've cried so many times since starting this journey just out of sheer awe that I’m actually doing it.
Welcome to Day 1.
