Hello, BHS Theatre, this is Mr. Villanueva and I am thrilled at the opportunity to help you all out in OAP. Just wanted you all to know there will be a rehearsal tomorrow morning (Sat. Jan. 10) at 9 am at the high school. In case you've missed it's not too late to join in as competition season approaches. I have met many of you and have enjoyed working with a talented group and hope to meet more. Thank you all for your hard work!

What an amazing trip!!! This was the biggest team we’ve taken to a tournament so far! It was a 2-day, 2-school tournament hosted by Tascosa HS and Canyon HS in Amarillo. One of the biggest tournaments of the season. Each student was asked what accomplishment they were most proud of today:

🏆 Jezlyn brought home 4 trophies! 1st Place Canyon Poetry, 1st Place Tascosa Original Spoken Word Poetry, 3rd Place Tascosa Poetry, and the G.L.O.W. Award.

🏆 Kiera placed 1st in Impromptu Speaking prelims and then 5th at Semifinals.

🏆 Octavio placed 2nd in Prose prelims and then 5th at Semifinals

🏆 Jerry placed 1st in Impromptu Speaking prelims and finished in the top 5 at Semifinals

🏆 Brexton placed 3rd in Impromptu Speaking prelims

🏆 Ravay placed 3rd in Prose prelims

🏆 Breanna placed 2nd in Impromptu Speaking prelims and advanced to Semifinals

🏆 Xoe placed 3rd in Poetry prelims and advanced to Semifinals

🏆 Brayzi placed 4th in Prose prelims

🏆 Liliana placed 5th in Dramatic Interp prelims

The rest were just happy to have survived their first tournament! Congratulations, Team!!! 🎉

We have some AMAZING news!!! Jezlyn Hines has received the G.L.O.W. award presented at the Canyon-Tascosa Speech & Debate tournament today in Amarillo, TX! This award goes to a student whose positive attitude and citizenship contribute positively to his or her team. She was chosen from many students who were nominated by their coaches for this award. She is so deserving of this award and we are so very proud of her! Stay tuned for our team’s tournament results posted later tonight!
