Broomfield Community Players are holding auditions Thursday, October 12th, 6-9 PM and Saturday, October 14th, 10:30AM - 1:30 PM for their upcoming production of A Christmas Carol. They need both adult and youth performers.

Broomfield Community Players announces adult and youth auditions for A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - 90 minute adaptation by Steve Blount. Directed by Melissa Williams.
PERFORMANCE DATES: Thursday, December 14 - Saturday, December 16, 2023 (4 performances) at Broomfield Auditorium, 3 Community Park Rd.
AUDITION INFORMATION:
WHEN: Thursday, October 12th, 6-9 PM and Saturday, October 14th, 10:30AM - 1:30 PM.
WHERE: Presbyterian Church of Broomfield, Ministry Building, 350 Main Street, Broomfield, CO.
Auditions will be cold reads from the script and an a ca****la version of a Christmas carol. You may be asked to read for a variety of characters and with other actors. Sides and sheet music may be requested in advance.

REHEARSALS:
All rehearsals will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Broomfield, 350 Main St.
Rehearsals are October through December. Not everyone will be called to all rehearsals - a detailed schedule will be available after casting.
Adult Rehearsal days and times: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday evenings from 7-10:00PM (10/24 - 12/7) and Saturdays from 10AM-1PM (10/21, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18 & 12/2 & 12/9). Tech rehearsals are December 10-13 from 6-10 PM (no conflicts allowed). There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving weekend.
Youth Rehearsal days and times: Saturdays 10AM-1PM (10/21, 10/28, 11/ 4, 11/11, 11/18 & 12/2 & 12/9) TECH WEEK (no conflicts allowed) December 10-13, 5-9pm. There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving weekend.
ADULT ROLES:
Many parts will include multiple ensemble roles. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
-Ebenezer Scrooge: Male-identifying, Age 40+. A cranky and mean-spirited man, who has forgotten that the important things in life are free.
-Ebenezer (Young Man) Male-identifying, Age 18 - 25, in love with Belle, and Fezziwig's apprentice. Also plays other roles.
-Bob Cratchit: Male-identifying, Age 30-40. Scrooge’s destitute clerk. Although overworked and underpaid by Scrooge, Cratchit still retains his goodness and generosity.
-Emily Cratchit: Female-identifying, Age 20-40. Earthy, warm, hardworking mother. Also plays other roles.
-Martha Cratchit : Female-identifying, Age 16-25. Oldest daughter of the Cratchits. Also plays other roles.
-Fred: Male-identifying, Age 20-30. Scrooge’s nephew. Rich with friends, if not with money. Warm and optimistic.
-Jacob Marley’s Ghost: Male-identifying, Age 50+. Marley is Scrooge's late business partner. Dead for seven years, now a restless old ghost who has come back to haunt Scrooge.
-Spirit of Christmas Past: Any gender identity, Age teen-60. An angelic spirit with an air of mischievousness and mystery.
-Spirit of Christmas Present: Any gender identity, Age 30-50. A loud and boisterous spirit, who shows Scrooge how his friends and family are celebrating Christmas without him.
-Belle: Female-identifying, Age 20-30. The love of young Scrooge’s life, kind and open hearted. Also plays other roles.
-Fezziwig: Male-identifying, Age 30-50. Scrooge’s former employer, a prosperous man of good will.
-Gentlewoman 1: Female-identifying, Age 30 - 60. The Narrator in our version of the show. Also plays other roles.
YOUTH ROLES:
-Tiny Tim Cratchit: Male-identifying, Age 6-10. Bob Cratchit's youngest son. Tim’s emotional strength and positive attitude impress everyone around him.
-Fan: Female-identifying, Age 6-12. Ebenezer's little sister, a kind hearted girl. May also play other youth roles.
-Benny: Male-identifying, Age 9-12. Young Ebenezer. May also play other youth roles.
