Formerly known as Indigo Hippie Co, we have decided to focus and evolve our talented community organization in to something new, fresh and well-needed in NYC. IAC is focusing on art, youth, community and the employment of creatives who exhibit their work. We are launching The Indigo Artist Performance Center, a haven for the under-privileged youth to explore a diaspora of art and music while honin
g in and developing their own craft(s) with the support and training of local artists and musicians. We will host youth after-school performing arts and enrichment programming with initiatives in music, visual arts, dance and theater. IAC is using these arts to reduce teenage participants’ out-of-school idle time. We will expose our young people to self-development workshops, positive networks, trained artists and consistent resources during out-of-school time. By giving under-privileged teenagers’ responsibility, we help them identify their passions and provide them with an opportunity to feel a sense of purpose, understanding and care about their well-being alongside the well-being of their community.
