Saxophonist-Composer JOHANNES ENDERS Presents His New Recording - PHANTOM HAPPINESS

Featuring an international quartet of strong musical personalities united by a shared sonic ideal of depth, freedom, and narrative power – Johannes Enders-tenor saxophone, Rainer Böhm-piano, Doug Weiss-bass & Jorge Rossy-drums

Available November 6, 2026 Worldwide on Enja Records

With over 30 albums as a leader or co-leader to his credit, Johannes Enders has established himself as one of the most important voices on saxophone in Europe. On Phantom Happiness, his latest for the Enja label, Enders explores a new batch of his evocative compositions with longtime working colleague Rainer Böhm on piano and seasoned veterans Doug Weiss on bass and Jorge Rossy on drums. Together they strike a highly interactive accord on originals like the driving “Destination Peace,” the gently melodic “Shooting Star Before Bedtime” and the intimate ballad “Losing You,” along with the introspective “Why” and briskly swinging title track. For a change of pace, they conjure up Sunday church service on the gospel-tinged “Sunday Blues,” then lay down some grooving funk on “A Little Too Friendly” before settling into a melancholy mood on the rubato closer, “7680.” https://conta.cc/4h3IE1J

Pianist/Composer YANIV TAUBENHOUSE
Announces the Release of
Moments in Trio Vol. 4 - Circles
Featuring Yaniv Taubenhouse – Piano, Rick Rosato – Bass
& Jerad Lippi - Drums
Available – November 13, 2026 on Fresh Sound/New Talent

“ . . . Taubenhouse is, above all, a seductive pianist. He pursues lavish beauty unashamedly. For him, technical elements serve emotional, spiritual, and atmospheric purposes . . . Taubenhouse can cast a spell like Abdullah Ibrahim, but his energy is edgier . . . Remember his name. His present is intriguing. His future could be more so.”
– Thomas Conrad, JazzTimes Magazine

Pianist/composer Yaniv Taubenhouse has once again assembled his mighty trio, going on thirteen years of creating music together, and featuring the talents of Rick Rosato on bass and Jerad Lippi on drums, to create their fourth tour-de-force, Moments in Trio Volume Four – Circles (available November 13, 2026 on Fresh Sound/New Talent). This album is the fourth in Taubenhouse’s series of documenting his fascinating trio, following up, “Vol. 1 Moments in Trio,” “Vol. 2 Perpetuation,” and “Vol. 3 Roads.” The trio’s camaraderie, solidarity and sky-high level of musicianship is unmistakable throughout their work together. As Mike Gates stated on UKVibe, “There needs to be an intuitive togetherness, one which conveys a creative path of interest. This trio has this in abundance.” Masters make it look easy, and sound easy, and Taubenhouse and his trio are in such command of their instruments, and completely in an egoless lockstep with each other, that this brilliant music feels breezy, and light-footed. It is awe-inspiring and exhilarating on many levels. In the face of the long, storied history of the piano trio in jazz, Taubenhouse, Rosato and Lippi continue their creative journey and succeed in finding unique artistic paths, and a singular collective voice.

“As the album opens, with the wonderfully enigmatic ‘Blue Forest’, I am reminded, in more ways than one, of the Brad Mehldau Trio. Particularly his ‘Art of the Trio’ series that went a long way to launching his illustrious career. ‘Roads’ has that same feel, that same essence running through it. Taubenhouse plays his instrument with a similar drifting ease, a similar beautiful lilt of a single note, a similar deft touch that sparks illumination. He even shares Mehldau’s penchant for lengthy liner notes… and yet he obviously has his own style. The mix of original compositions from the trio is great to hear, with each tune fitting effortlessly together to create an overall atmosphere of fresh originality.” – Mike Gates, UKVibe https://conta.cc/3T0tpPd
