Detroit: 2006: Agave off Woodward
These are some shots from our first Monday morning. This year we continue to celebrate 15 years of Visionquest at Lincoln Factory.
What started as a 70 person party on the back patio of a restaurant inspired by a trip to Berlin turned into an unimaginable run into underground dance music.
Roughly six years prior I bought my first pair of turntables and just before that began exploring the scene downtown. The past 26 years have been an extremely wild ride.
Without dance music, I never would have met those nearest and dearest to me. To say it has changed my life would be a profound understatement. I’ve been fortunate enough to tick almost every ‘proverbial box’ when it comes to a career in this space, BUT no matter what happens, it all comes back to Memorial Weekend every year… at home in Detroit.
We welcome our heroes, our muses, new collaborators, and most importantly everyone in between who has supported us through the highs and more importantly, the lows. We commemorate a significant milestone in what we’ve all been a part of “to get through this thing called life.”
This might not be a big deal to the masses or the superstars, but it’s a big fu***ng deal to me. No amount of text right now or any time soon will be able to capture my full emotions. Thank you Shaun, Zach, Christoper Mohn and the Lincoln Factory for already going above and beyond to make this happen.
I can’t wait to see the rest of you .reeves
