I (finally!) managed to finish Ki Sisa, the 21st weekly Torah portion (out of 54). This one was a long one, but I finally got it done. :)

Next up is Vayakhel, which deals with the building of the Tabernacle in the wilderness. But first up, it begins with a statement about keeping the Sabbath.

The juxtaposition of this statement about the Sabbath before the building of the Tabernacle teaches us that the building of the Tabernacle (and later, the Temple in Jerusalem) do not override the Sabbath. Even this important work must be suspended one day a week.

Exodus 33:18. Column 101.

Here, Moses teaches us that we should always aim high in our lives. You may not always get everything you ask for or strive for in life (Moses did not have this request fully granted), but you still have to put in the effort and work towards those goals. If you don't put in the effort, you surely won't accomplish anything.
