For 20 years I lived under the thumb of tyrants. Asian parents are controlling but mine were on another level. I was their property, their dog on a leash. Yet during their rock bottom, when they were forcing me to work for delivery at Panda after I came home from college during the coup, I started to teach and did everything I could to support them. I started to change and I paid off everything for them. Yet it wasn't enough. It would never be enough. Last time I spoke to my father he asked for my social security under suspicious pretenses. My mother had since my childhood stabbed me countless times, tied me with a rope and tortured me, and gave me a concussion by throwing a brick at my head when I was 11, I knew then of what I know now, there's no choice for me but to think about Leavin.
