CommUniversity Band is open to anyone who wants to continue to make music.

First Meeting: Thursday, January 15th @ 6PM (we will not be playing)
First Rehearsal: Thursday, January 22nd @ 6PM
Concert: Sunday, April 26th @2:30pm

Bring along a friend or two. We are always looking for more oboes, bassoons, clarinets, horns, and tubas to help fill out the band.

We at the Brookings Area Community Band are very sorry to learn the news of The Brookings Register ending their operations in Brookings. If you, like all of us, relied on the Register for daily news and arts and cultural content, please take a moment to send condolences to their local employees, and be sure to like and share our page with others who may not have used our page as their main source of performance information. We will periodically be updating you on other performance information through this page. This includes free and ticketed events offered by the South Dakota State University - School of Performing Arts.

Tonight your Brookings Area Community Band gathered for their end-of-season potluck at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center. We are extremely grateful for our partnership with South Dakota State University and the South Dakota State University - School of Performing Arts for providing the rehearsal facility for our weekly rehearsals, and also tonight’s potluck! The support of the community and University are the backbone of our program. Don’t forget that many band members join the SDSU CommUniversity Band and have a winter season! If we don’t see you at those concerts, we will see you next summer! (Oh, and don’t miss the amazing performances found at www.woodbineproductions.com those season tickets go on sale tomorrow for a special in-person event at The Oscar from 9 am - 1 pm!)
