A guy I know asked me to produce some artwork for an apocalypse created by a disease. I decided to go for a scene done very shortly after the collapse of society, so the buildings are in rough shape but not too rough of shape as a result.

Snapped this on a chase last year. My first shoot with my current camera as it still had the old 18-55mm kit lens mounted on it. This was on the South Dakota \ Minnesota border near Pipestone.

So Michigan storms, specifically around the lakes, are really weird. This storm produced two side by side shelf clouds by the river. Then, moving into the country, it started to produce tornadic activity (Pictured here with this funnel). When chasing here you throw out the rule books cuz the weather here does what it wants. This was not a supercell by any definition and yet it was producing (technically) a tornadic funnel that nearly touched down. But, once it moved a certain distance away from the lake, it went p**f. This same phenomenon happened just a few days later. A storm produced a tornado going into the lake, and then died immediately upon exiting.

Went storm chasing with today. Michigan storms are really strange. It started developing super cell structures and tornadic activity but it wasn't a true super cell. It was being fueled by the lake. As soon as it got to a certain distance, all the super cell structures disappeared and it became a very typical storm. Once I get home I'll upload many photos, but I don't have any way to edit them at the moment. This one he took with a camera with an IR filter one it, and sent me a copy to edit on my phone. I biked over to the fireworks display here in town. It was pretty cool because of how much of my gear I had to use. My new action camera, my tripod, my dslr, first use of my wide aperture lens, my backpack etc. So I got a cool fireworks display, got to use a lot of gear and collect data on that, and I learned how to light stack in photoshop. So pretty fun shoot.
