A new name. The same artist. A bigger storm. ⚡

Schweinfurth Art is becoming Tempest Creative.

When I began sharing my work as Schweinfurth Art, the name was centered on me and the artwork I was creating. Since then, my creative world has grown to include paintings, comics, stories, live streams, and a community of people following the work as it develops.

I wanted a name that could hold all of those things together while leaving room for whatever I create next. That is why the new name is Tempest Creative.

The tempest represents the energy running through my work: movement, emotion, change, and transformation. My art often lives in the space between opposites, bright neon and deep shadow, tenderness and tension, beauty and grief, softness and intensity. A tempest can be turbulent, but it can also clear the air, change the landscape, and make room for something new.

“Creative” allows the name to reach beyond one medium. Tempest Creative can be a home for my paintings, comics, stories, streams, experiments, and the community growing around them.

And the lamb still belongs at the heart of it all. The lamb is the quiet presence inside the tempest: gentle without being fragile, watchful, resilient, and unafraid to remain itself. That contrast between the softness of the lamb and the intensity of the storm reflects the same balance found throughout my work.

So as the name changes, the lamb comes with me. It isn’t something being left behind with Schweinfurth Art; it is becoming a symbol of Tempest Creative, the calm heart that continues through the storm.

The name is changing, but it’s still me. The artwork, stories, strange ideas, neon colors, dark ink, and creative heart behind everything are staying the same.

Over the next several weeks, you’ll gradually see Tempest Creative replace Schweinfurth Art across my social media profiles, usernames, links, email, shop pages, and other places. If you still see the old name somewhere during the transition, don’t worry-you’re still in the right place.

A little creative update: I think I was too optimistic about how much of the comic-making process I could handle at once. Writing, drawing, inking, lettering, editing, planning, and sharing everything is a lot of jobs for one artist, so I need to take a step back and work at a more sustainable pace.

I’m simplifying my Ko-fi membership to one tier with Discord access and plenty of behind-the-scenes looks at whatever I’m creating: from comic work and paintings to sketches, experiments, and everything in between.

Right now, I’ll also be working hard to create new pieces for my upcoming booth at the Brookfield Creative Arts Festival! It takes place September 19 and 20 from 10 AM–4 PM at Kiwanis Park.

I’m still making things, just at a pace I can realistically sustain. I hope to share some finished pieces with you soon, and I’m so grateful to everyone who continues to follow and support my work.

Canopy didn’t survive the rain last night, due to some user error on my part. I unfortunately won’t be set up for my last day at RAW, but I have a great day yesterday and I’ll keep you all posted about future events and happenings. I’ve been wanting a place where all of my work could exist together instead of being scattered everywhere: my art, writing, zines, sketches, random thoughts, all of it. Somewhere more personal where people can actually follow what I’m making and support it directly if they want to.

I’m also releasing my first zine with it.
It’s a mix of my artwork and writing together, made from a lot of late nights, feelings I couldn’t shut off, and trying to turn things into something beautiful instead of letting them sit inside me. The digital version is made from scans of the original handmade full-color zine.

I’ll be posting new art, works in progress, writing, behind-the-scenes stuff, future print and zine releases, and probably some chaotic thoughts in between.
