What does music have in common with art for little artists?
This week, we explored that connection through three incredible pieces: Eine kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, and Flight of the Bumblebee by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
As the music played, my little artists used only primary colors: red, yellow, and blue crayons…to express what they heard and felt!!! Along the way, they discovered that just like music blends notes and rhythms, colors can blend too. On their paper, red and yellow became orange, blue and yellow turned green, and red and blue created purple.
Even more special, some children began to see the music. We saw raindrops, waves, wind, and even a tornado come to life on the page.
Through this experience, they were not just coloring. They were listening, imagining, creating, and connecting. Music guided their hands, and art gave their ideas a voice.
It was such a joyful way to learn!! 🎶 🖼️ 🎨 It was a great week!!!
