On Wednesday, September 9, I’ll be at Kirtland Public Library, digging into the real history, legends, folklore, and local mysteries that helped inspire The Towpath.

We’ll explore the Ohio & Erie Canal, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Indigenous history, forgotten stories, and some of the stranger things I discovered while researching the region. l”ll also share how pieces of that history found their way into a time-travel suspense thriller and how Northeast Ohio ultimately became as important to the story as any of its characters.

The event runs from 6:00–7:00 p.m. at Kirtland Public Library. Copies of The Towpath will be available to purchase and have signed afterward.

Registration is required, and only a limited number of seats remain. If local history, the Cuyahoga Valley, hiking, mysteries, or suspense stories are your thing, I’d love to see you there.

While his older bro Nate is cranking out music with , Wes is still cranking out the pencil artwork. He’s now set his sights on maritime disasters. To my dismay, the illustration of the vessel breaking in two is named the “USS Wesley.” I begged him not to name it this but there was no convincing him. 🤨
