‘The virus knows no borders’: Gov. announces closure of restaurants, businesses in CT due to coronavirus concerns

Connecticut, New York and New Jersey have mandates all gyms,bars and restaurants closed as of 8pn tonight 3/16/20. All J.Christipher bar events are therefore on hiatus until venues are allowed to reopen.

I've been asked recently, why there was a significant price difference between a party, such as a J&J, versus a wedding.

For a party, there will be an initial meeting and some planning for special announcements, games or appropriate playlists and ofcouse we use high end equipment appropriate for the size of your venue.

For a wedding, there are additional pre-wedding meetings to discuss the timeline of events, music choices and basically map out how the day will unfold.
We always bring an MC and DJ duo for weddings, this allows the MC to focus on announcements and organizing special dances or the grand entrance line up while your DJ is focused on the music. J Christopher has also invested thousands of dollars in training seminars at several DJ expos and countless thousands in top notch sound and lighting equipment that is kept in pristine condition. What might be a 5 hour wedding for you, is really an all day event for us. Easily an hour or two to set up, and again to pack up. Several more hours in preparation in the days prior working on our mixes and announcements.

There are many things to consider when comparing prices. Are you getting a duo with over 15 years experience, are you getting quality sound and lighting with back up equipment, are you getting a DJ with a massive and legal music library spanning multiple decades in all genre, with kid friendly radio edits? Is your DJ insured? Some venues will not allow an uninsured vendor to be at your event.
What if your DJ becomes sick? Your DJ entertainment is quite possibly the most important and memorable part of the party, shouldn't you entrust your special day to a professional?
