Many of you know that I am moving to Rhode Island this weekend. Woo hoo!! 😃 I have been packing up and going through everything in my apartment, purging things like a mad woman. I have boxes from floor to ceiling in the living room- most rooms are now about empty. I swear that when I started this process, I was being very organized in my packing; boxes are labeled w exactly what’s inside of them. Now all bets are off; I’m shoving things into my 15000 Marshall’s bags and tying up the handles- or not!!! It’s insane and I know it, and I’m doing it anyway. I’m so sad to be leaving my friends here in NY, but I am so excited to begin the next chapter of my life!!!
Do not ever lose sight of your dreams- they can come true at 60!!!

We spent our first night in our new home last night, and I’m in love with my new little house!
I stayed up until after 1am cleaning and unpacking- then the dog was anxious and had to go out at 3:30am; of course he did! It’s been a long day of unpacking the few boxes we were able to bring and shopping for curtains and comforters and step stools and garbage cans… this coming week will be the last at my current job, where I’ve been for 12 years- I’m dreading the goodbyes. I work w an extraordinary group of women, and I will miss them deeply. I will pick up the U-Haul on Friday afternoon and go to the storage unit to take everything that I can- then to my apartment to pack everything into the truck- and then we leave to come to Rhode Island for good!😊
I cannot believe that I was able to pull this off!! 😃

CRABBY MAMA’S SHELL SHACK is moving to Rhode Island!
Our final moving date is 10/17!!
We are in full packing mode, and are unable to fill orders until we have our new Shell Shack set up in 10ish days. I am putting my Etsy shop in vacation mode today, and will open it back up when settled. I am packing up all shells and supplies this morning! I am so excited for the next chapter of my life to start!

Across the country, people are rallying around a former Cornell student who says she was drugged and sexually assaulted by seven fraternity members in 2024.

Her lawsuit alleges only two were expelled while others remained enrolled. No criminal charges were filed, and the allegations have not been proven in court.

But survivors should never have to fight this hard to be believed, protected, and treated like their futures matter.

To every survivor watching this story unfold: we see you. We believe you deserve safety, support, and a system that does not protect powerful institutions more fiercely than it protects people.

What an INCREDIBLE week it’s been!! I am now, on the edge of turning 60, a homeowner for the first time! Now Crabby Mama really does have a shell shack near the beach. My new home is a compact little 1925 beach cottage, just 1 block from where the Providence River meets the Narragansett bay (or visa versa). I am so happy, 😀 and so excited to begin the next chapter of my life.
I will be posting shells again very soon- right now I’m in high gear packing up mode. I hope you all have an amazing day!

Good morning friends!! 😊 I am just one day away from closing on my little beach cottage in Rhode Island!! I cannot believe that I have been able to do this- I will be 60 yrs old in 6 weeks: I have left my job of 12 yrs and bought my first home in a different state!
NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS, and NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!!! I am so excited to be stepping into the next decade of my life with my head held high, and an enormous smile on my face.
I will be posting pictures soon- and I will be having a sale in my shop to celebrate once I settle in.

I’ve been quiet recently bc I am in the midst of a whirlwind life change, and I want to thank EVERYONE that has been following this crazy journey and supporting me through it!!
I am buying a house in Rhode Island and moving mid October!! My mortgage was contingent upon getting a job in RI. Mortgage was approved, and job offer came in yesterday! WOO HOO!! 🎊
This seems to really be happening, and I am so happy and excited!
The Shell Shack will now be in a 1920’s beach cottage, just 1 block from Narragansett Bay. There is a lighthouse 1 mile from the house. A REAL LIGHTHOUSE!!!
Chip and I will be starting and ending most of our days walking on the beach, collecting shells and seaglass and listening to the waves and the gulls.
This is my lifelong dream- coming to me at the age of 60!
