Lynyrd Skynyrd History :
The bar for a Short time was called Speedy's when Allen played there and then went on to be the famous Mug on the Northside.

December 1977. The Mug Saloon on Jacksonville Northside in Riverview on Lem Turner Road. We just called it The Mug. The band : White Lightning!

Trav. Just a little History on Allen i see post were people are saying Allen's first time back on Stage, that would not be Correct, the truth is. The first time Allen played after the plane Crash was in a Small bar on Jacksonville Northside still wearing a Neck brace and pins sticking out of his arms.
His Uncle and Myself picked up Allen ( he just got out of the hospital and got back home to Jacksonville the day before ) took him to a bar called the Mug on lem Turner road were a local band was playing i carried his guitar and pig nose amp ,for him.
He got up on stage and gave a very heartfelt speech saying the last time he played this song was with Ronnie and the band and started to rip into freebird. But. Stopped. The band was playing it to slow so he took about a minute and they started over and the energy that night felt like a big sold out Show.
Allen tore the Stage up and it Sounded just like Skynyrd so the very first time Allen played anything was here. I just wanted to share the story and yes i have a few pictures from that night i will find and post.
