Waffles: [peeking around the dresser leg] Psst, Princesa. We have a situation.

Princesa: [trotting over, gasping] Oh no. The snack drawer! Did you do this?

Waffles: Me? I was just seeing if it was treat-o-clock. I booped it with my nose and the whole front just... fell off. I swear it detached itself.

Princesa: Waffles. You weigh 65 pounds. Your "boops" register on the Richter scale. Mom's gonna see this.

Waffles: [ears back] But maybe if we just... push it back on? Like a puzzle? [tries to balance the drawer front with his paw]

Princesa: Stop! You're making it worse. You know Mom. She sees a broken thing and her eyes get all sparkly. That's the "project look."

Waffles: The "project look"? Is that bad?

Princesa: For us? No. For the dresser? It's getting a full glow-up. Last time the "project look" happened, the ugly chair became my throne. Remember?

Waffles: [tail starts wagging] Ohhh. So... she'll get the wood glue. And the clamps. And maybe that sander that sounds like a bee.

Princesa: And she'll mutter to herself for 20 minutes, then it’ll look brand new. Probably with fancier handles. We just have to act innocent.

Waffles: [plops down] Operation Innocent Floof, engaged. Think she’ll paint it? I vote for a color that hides paw prints.

Princesa: ** Waffles, every color hides your paw prints because you are a walking dust cloud. Just don't "help" when she starts fixing it, okay?

Found these two sad little tables out by the road. A lot of sanding, some stain, new matte black legs, and fresh brass pulls later… they’re living their best life.
