Short pop-up taiko performance on Pearl Street Mall before heading to the Boulder Theater. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported Boulder Taiko and our upcoming 20th Anniversary concert, Harmony of Rhythms 2026: One Legacy • 一伝.

After our pop-up taiko performance on Pearl Street Mall, we headed to see Naomi Watanabe from Tokyo at the Boulder Theater — where Boulder Taiko will also be performing for Harmony of Rhythms 2026: One Legacy on Sunday, August 16.

Naomi joked that her friends in U.S were asking her, “Why Boulder?!” We were wondering the same thing — but so happy she came all the way from Tokyo/New York to perform here.

Boulder Taiko, together with Dragons—our youth taiko team (ages 6–12)—performed as the opening act at Summit Middle School’s International Night last Friday, April 17.
We were honored to share the stage with such an enthusiastic audience in a vibrant celebration of cultures.

Thank you to Wendy Dunning and Summit MS for the opportunity and warm welcome. We’re proud to perform alongside our young drummers and continue building community through taiko.

Boulder Taiko performed at the Boulder Public Library Canyon Theater for BPLD Presents: Family Saturdays on March 7, 2026.

After the performance, audience members joined us on stage for a mini taiko workshop. Kids and adults experienced the power and joy of taiko drumming firsthand, making it a memorable community event.

After the performance, we enjoyed a well-earned bowl of noodles together and spent time with Boulder Taiko members.

Thank you to Boulder Public Library District for hosting this program and to everyone who joined us.
