my artistic POV:
As an old-school artist with a journey that spans podcaster, lawyer, and educator in China for 30 years, I have come to see art as the very foundation of humanity. It’s a profound gift to education, history, philosophy, science, technology, and the evolution of the human spirit—an essential freedom that allows us to express our imagination and creativity. Indeed, Mother Nature h
erself is the ultimate artist, a truth that resonates deeply within me. Art is not confined to gallery walls; it permeates our everyday lives. Art is woven into the fabric of our existence from the design of your car and clothing to home furnishings, music, films, and even your child’s birthday cake. It reflects our creativity in countless ways, enriching our experiences. I believe the relationship between art and science is inseparable. Leonardo da Vinci said it best: “The greatest scientists are artists as well.” Einstein; Even NASA recognized this connection, launching its art program in 1963 with the motto, “Stay Curious.”
As a photographer specializing in mandala digital art, I’m driven to create. My work is inspired by nearly 30 years spent in East Asia—China, India, Nepal, Thailand, and Bali +—where I learned from various mandala art specialists. Mandalas are ancient, unique geometric designs used by cultures worldwide for spiritual growth, meditation, healing, and creativity. They serve as beautiful, meaningful gifts for homes, offices, or that special someone. You can choose here from a variety of sizes/styles of my Digital Art, Mandala Art and Photography: materials (canvas, metal, fine art prints), framing styles, and prices. Each piece is an original creation, and I invite you to check back often as I continue to expand my collection. My work has been showcased in various venues, including the 798 International Art District in Beijing and several galleries in Maine, where I presented my celebrity and fashion series. Exciting new exhibitions are in the works, so stay tuned! However, having said all this, I'm not entirely sure about the purpose of art, especially my own. Is it meant to impress, instill curiosity, evoke happiness or sadness, or simply be for fun? Is it political or whimsical? Does it need to have deep meaning, shallow meaning, or no meaning at all? Is it created to make money, to be intellectual, educational or as a response to previous art trends? For me, I think it may encompass all of these aspects.
