It was 40-years ago tonight, Sunday, December 12, 1982 that the Wayne Martin Puppets™ Emmy nominated, syndicated television special, 'The Magical Christmas of Michael J. Peabody and the Angel™' first aired. Sponsored by McAlpin's Department Stores (For whom Martin produced all of their breakfasts and dinners with Santa, Easter Bunny and the Witch promotions from 1976 through 1995) the special aired in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio and Nashville, Tennessee in 1982 and 1983. Wayne Martin d/b/a Wayne Martin Puppets™ Frosty the Snowman marionette. (One of my favorite puppet builds over the past decade. I've built many versions of Frosty over my career, but this is the one I'm most proud. He has animated eyes and mouth, he can tip his hat, he is designed using blacklight fabrics to allow him to glow, his head, arms and legs break apart, his torso collapses allowing him to melt and under his skin are 100 led twinkling lights that appear as he melts away.) I first appeared at this mall in 1979 and management has invited us back several times a year since and it's always a pleasure.
