What is your favorite spring memory?

“I Will” — March 11, 2026
16 x 20 • Acrylic

This time of year always makes me anticipate my favorite holiday: Easter. Even as a kid, Easter meant so much to me. My Aunt Florence would leave these huge Easter baskets in front of the fireplace for us to find in the morning, and it felt magical every single time.

I’ve always loved Easter lilies—the promise of new beginnings, the first blooms on the trees, the feeling that something fresh and hopeful is just starting to unfold. This painting comes from that place… stepping into a new season, a new light, a new beginning.

Boston winters are long, and March is deceptive — one warm day, then a snowstorm. That back‑and‑forth makes the craving for color even sharper. And although at my age I don’t like to rush time, I’m really looking forward to green, sunshine, flowers, and warm weather. Until then, here are my flowers in the greenhouse I created holding me over.

“Yes It Is”

Yes It Is has always been one of those Beatles songs that hits a deeper place. It’s a song about memory, longing, and the colors we carry from the people we’ve loved. Red becomes a symbol — of what was, what’s gone, and what still lingers in the heart. This painting grew out of that feeling, that mix of tenderness and love, and the way a single color can hold an entire story.

On Next”
Acrylic • Started June 2020 • Completed February 21, 2026

I began this piece back in June 2020 during Covid, when I was living down in Orleans. It hung in a few different places over the years, and eventually it settled into my living room. I kept looking at it, knowing it felt flat and that someday I’d go back in and fix it.

This morning I finally did. I applied so many of the things I’ve learned since 2020, pushed the depth, played with the light, and gave it the three‑dimensional feel it always needed. I’m really happy with where it landed.

“I Dreamed You Bloomed” 19x20 Acrylic February 20,2026

Gray skies today and more snow on the way — which I honestly don’t mind. I’ve always been someone who finds a certain calm in winter and rain. But there’s something quietly remarkable about sitting in front of a blank canvas and realizing that any of us can choose to create something entirely different from the world outside. Not to sound too existential, but the simple fact that we all have the ability to make beauty — to bring something new into being just because we feel moved to — still amazes me.

“Here, There, and Everywhere”
16 x 20 Acrylic
February 13, 2026

“Here, There and Everywhere” has always been my favorite Beatles song — actually my favorite song of all time. To me, it’s about unconditional love and the way we stay connected to the people we care about, even when they’re not physically with us. It speaks to the love we share with partners, with the people who shape our lives, and even with those we’ve lost. It’s a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t disappear; it just lives with us here, there, and everywhere.

Wishing everyone a little extra light and love this Valentine’s Day.
