In the theatre world we have lots of traditions, superstitions and just fun things that we do. One that is fairly common across the theatre world is the concept of "thank you five." Basically, your stage manager will give you information and to make sure you have received the information you say "thank you" and then repeat the brief info you've been given. "Thank you five" would reference your five minutes until show start (curtain). Sometimes they can be a little silly, for example if you get caught eating in costume and the stage manager tells you to stop. You should say, "thank you stop eating in costume."
But we'd like to give a specific "thank you 5" for the $5 all attendees of "Arsenic & Old Lace" were allowed to save due to the generous funding of Junior Sorosis of Chillicothe in memory of Evelyn Graves and her generosity to the Arts. Their generous $2500 donation allowed us to sell our usual $15 tickets for only $10, but still have a successful show without going over budget for licensing rights, costumes, etc.
So a huge "THANK YOU $5" to Junior Sorosis. We hope our show honored the dedication of Evelyn Graves and her love of the arts.
Our next show is September 25, titled "Starlight: A Musical R***e." This show will be one night only and feature a variety of Broadway songs sung by our talented local cast of singers. This will be at the Elks Lodge. More information soon.
