🎬📣 Documentary filmmakers: applications are now open for the 2027 JFI Doc Lab!

The JFI Doc Lab is the only U.S.-based fellowship of its kind, supporting emerging and established filmmakers creating documentaries that explore Jewish culture and identity.

Through mentorship, community, and hands-on support in fundraising, production, exhibition, and marketing, the Doc Lab helps filmmakers move their projects forward and connect with a vibrant network of peers and industry professionals.

Applications are now open for Firelight Media’s Documentary Lab, a 12-month fellowship supporting filmmakers of color working on their first or second nonfiction feature.

This program offers holistic support to help bring your film to the finish line — including customized mentorship, professional development, and a $25K project grant. Fellows also become part of a strong network within the documentary ecosystem.

📌 For 2026, projects must be in post-production
