Frequently referred to "The Hardest Working Musician in the High Country," the longtime Boone, NC resident is a whirlwind of musical activity both on stage and off. Originally from Clemmons, NC, Brewer has called Boone home since arriving there for college in the
summer of 2000. First hitting the local scene with Southern jam rock outfit Six Foot Groove, Brewer later founded alt. country outfit Possum Jenkins in 2004 and soul/r&b powerhouse Soul Benefactor in 2007. Brewer regularly shares the stage with an ever widening collection of acts that in recent years that include (but are not limited to): Dave Brewer's Foscoe Four, Possum Jenkins, Soul Benefactor, The Worthless Son-In-Laws, The King Bees, The Moravian Buns, The Junaluska Gospel Choir (at Boone's Mennonite Brethren Church), The Dead of Winter, Big Bang Boom, Chuck Folds Five, Melissa Reaves, Anya Hinkle & Tellico, Earleine, Danny Whittington and more. Brewer is also the founder/promoter behind the Carolina Ramble & Reunion. Founded in 2014, the Ramble is an intimate, family-oriented fall music festival that takes place outside of Boone, NC. In 2019, Brewer began a stint as an adjunct professor in the Music Industry Studies program at his alma mater, Appalachian State University, sharing his knowledge of booking management and promotion with the next generation of rising music hopefuls. Brewer's company, Carolina Ramble Productions, serves as the talent buyer for the Ramble, as well as Valle Crucis Park, High Country BeerFest, and Boone Saloon. In 2020, Brewer began hosting the Brewer World Tour Radio Hour via the Boone Area Community Radio station, as well as 90.1 WOVV FM in Ocracoke, NC. And...if you're still reading...Brewer heads up the Boone A.M.E.N. Corner (Area Musicians Experiencing Need). The tiny non-profit hosts a pair of benefit shows each year, donating the proceeds to local and regional musicians who need a helping hand.
