Happy Sorrows is heading to the tomorrow in Chicago IL. If you’re in the Chicago area tickets are available via the XL Film Fest website. Happy Sorrows will play as the last short film in their “For The Love” 1PM film block. We are thrilled to take this film on the road and be apart of one of the premiere Midwest film festivals. 🎬 Film friends, here’s the biggest way you can help Hear And See Productions grow.

Step 1: Subscribe to our YouTube channel.

That’s it. Seriously.

Why does it matter? YouTube has become one of the biggest platforms for discovering independent filmmakers. In 2026, the directors behind two of the year’s most profitable breakout films, Obsession and Backrooms, built their audiences by creating and sharing short films on YouTube.

We’re now on our fourth film, and we’ve documented every step of the journey with behind-the-scenes content, filmmaking insights, and exclusive updates. Our next goal is simple: turn our social media community into a YouTube community.

🎯 Goal: 500 subscribers by the end of Summer 2027.

Today our short film Happy Sorrows was accepted into the Detroit Black Film Festival. This is a huge milestone for our entire production team as it marks the first selection for our film on the festival circuit. We look forward to sharing this film with a new audience in Detroit and can’t wait for the festival September 23-27. Stay tuned for more festival news and updates. 🖤💜🩵

Happy Sorrows is a faith based film but sometimes faith is the last thing we want when life doesn’t go the way we planned. In this scene we see our main character Jrue drowning in a pit of sorrows and he chooses his vices (drinking / video games) over scripture. He hasn’t given up on God but he’s not ready to invite God into his situation yet.
