Sovereign Sounds Project Our mission is to provide recording gear and training to the next generation of Indigenous storytellers and musicians. They can teach us how to protect it.

Ultimately, we hope that this will deepen cultural knowledge within Native communities and amplify the Indigenous American voice. SOVEREIGN SOUNDS is a recording project that we hope will reach all Indigenous Nations in America. Our mission is to get recording materials – laptops, microphones, field recorders, and more – to as many communities as possible and train people in how to use them. The r

esult will be a massive songs and stories project that will flourish from within Native America. Songs and stories have a way of breaking down walls between people. They can teach us to love this land and everything that walks, grows, swims, flows, sings, flies, lives, and dies on it.

It was an honor to be part of the team that's helping bring disaster relief to Pine Ridge after this winter's devastating bomb cyclone.

GOOD NEWS! As of today, long-awaited public assistance from FEMA is coming, meaning the people of Pine Ridge will have the tools they need to help rebuild their community.
