The talented IDI dancers continue to delight audiences throughout the Northwest with their rhythmic high energy performances. IRISH DANCE IDAHO continues its mission to create a stellar Irish Dance performing experience, not only for the IDI dancers, but for the many audiences that follow them. Under the direction of Rebecca Ingram, and Assistants Heidi Grigg and Spencer Ingram, dancers are taught

and drilled on correct, difficult technique required for traditional and Show-style Irish Step in the difficult and beautiful Muenster tradition.

Have you ever listened to Long Journey Home by The Chieftains?

It gets me every time.

Inspired by the story of Irish immigration, our own Irish heritage, and the celebration of America's 250th birthday, we're excited to introduce our 2026 Summer Challenge: Long Journey Home.

Students will embark on a symbolic journey from Ireland to Idaho and back to Ireland by completing:

☘️ 50 days
☘️ 15 minutes each day
☘️ Practice, drills, stretching, and skill-building

Every practice session moves them a little farther along the journey, honoring the courage, perseverance, and hope carried by those who crossed an ocean in search of a new life.

It's a challenge about consistency, growth, and remembering the paths that brought us here.

Long before things were written down, people in Ireland passed stories, prayers, and well-wishes by memory. Rhythm and repetition made them easy to carry.
Many of our Irish dance traditions, including technique and céilí dances, were passed down the same way.

The Wild Sea Haggi

Each summer, these mesmerizing creatures return to the Scottish sea—drawn by instinct, tide, and something older than memory.

But in recent years, a quiet crisis has emerged.

A tartan shortage.

Without these essential woven resources, the Wild Sea Haggis struggle to sustain their natural feeding and nesting patterns. Conservationists have begun to sound the alarm, noting the delicate balance between tradition and survival.

This season, we answered the call.

Our tartans have been donated in an effort to restore their habitat and support the continuation of this rare and remarkable species.

For them, it is survival.
For us, it is preservation.

You can help.

One tartan can sustain a haggis through an entire migration cycle. Check your closets. Your blankets. Your great-aunt’s cedar chest.

If it’s tartan… it belongs to the sea.
