What does it mean to be human? That’s the big question at the heart of the 2027 “What Do You See?” Short Film Fellowship!🎬

We’re inviting tweens and teens to explore the human experience through their unique perspectives, bringing emotions, relationships, and real-life moments to the screen. From empathy and intuition to identity, vulnerability, connection, and the complexities of growing up, we want to see how young filmmakers make sense of the world around them.

✨ Every emotion tells a story, and every perspective matters.

The line up is stacked! Friday Night Creative Lights Showcase is tonight and we're bringing all the performances to the stage🎤 Throughout the evening you'll see:

🔹All'é (Alexandria)
🔹PJ Kids Family
🔹Gabbi Julee (Vocal Youth Miami)
🔹Chelsea Fiallo (Vocal Youth Miami)

Along side them you'll see the kids that have been practicing their craft and gaining confidence throughout the Friday Night Creative Lights Series.

🎉 Give Miami Day turns 15 this year! What started as a day of giving has grown into one of the biggest single days of generosity in the country, and The Center is excited to be part of it again this November. 💙

The Center’s “What Do You See?” Short Film Fellowship 2027 is coming soon! 🚀 In just ONE WEEK, applications will open, giving young creatives the chance to submit their ideas inspired by this year’s big question.

Whether they’re interested in filmmaking, editing, directing, or scriptwriting, this program helps young creators explore new levels of creativity, develop their skills, and take the next step toward their goals! ✨

🎬 IT’S BACK!! For the second year in a row, we’re looking for young creatives ready to bring their stories to life!

The “What Do You See” Short Film Fellowship gives aspiring filmmakers the tools, mentorship, and creative space to make an original short film. 🎥✨

Over the course of several months, fellows will take part in hands-on workshops covering every stage of the filmmaking process, including:
🎬 Scriptwriting
🎥 Pre-production
📋 Storyboarding
🎞️ Filming
💻 Editing

And they’ll learn alongside professional mentors working in the industry every step of the way.

Plus, selected fellows will showcase their work at a live screening event with a chance to win career-starting prizes + resources!
