Mid By Midwest Murder Mysteries

Mid By Midwest Murder Mysteries Solve live interactive murder mysteries. We create custom, live action, murder mystery games that are hosted by a variety of Bloomington venues.

All characters and story lines are original creations of Mid By Midwest Murder Mysteries. How it works:

Each player receives a character card with information pertaining to themselves, other characters, and the plot. The players are split into teams and tasked with utilizing their clues, their teammates' clues, and information that they gain from the game, to deduce the identity of the killer and

the motive. There may be other mysteries to solve following the same format. The game progresses in rounds. Each one reveals more clues to the players and allows time for them to mingle with other characters. After three rounds have been completed the teams will have time to discuss and attempt to solve the crime. Each team will then choose a spokesperson to tell the group who they think is the killer and the motive for the murder. The true plot will then be revealed and the winning team will be determined. Past mysteries:
“The Golden Age Of The Silver Screen”
The glory of the swashbuckling hero, the glamor of the elegant starlet, and the gallantry of the noble knight flow from the big screen and into the hearts of Americans. It is 1938 and the golden age of Hollywood is in full swing. But behind the lights and the camera, the action is as fiery as the California sun. You have been invited to the private bungalow of famed film director Marcel Dumont. A red carpet affair where the curtain is drawn back, revealing the sordid secrets, and sultry scandals, of the Hollywood elite. The Jazz is hot, the champagne is cold, and the people are beautiful. The problem is, one of you is a murderer. (Held at Rachael's Cafe Nov 2014)

“Kiss Me Deadly”
It is October 1955 and America is in the peak of prosperity, enjoying the golden age of morality where every family is a happy one and every marriage perfect. Or at least that's what people want to believe. Beneath the facade of a perfect society lays the seamy underbelly of the city. Tonight the city has a pulse, a hum, a beat, playing a discordant symphony for those who know how to listen. Hushed whispers float along the fog of shadowy streets and into the ears of high society and lowlifes alike. Something big is going down tonight and you want to be where the action is. You have been invited to a private party at the Blind Olive; A secret gin joint where crooked cops mingle with high society debutantes, politicians share manhattans with mobsters and the Hollywood elite hob k**b with hoodlums. A sordid scene and provocative crowd you know all too well. (Held at Scholars Inn Oct 2014)

Manhattan Murder Mystery
It is the Winter of 1977 in New York City's borough of Manhattan. A bastion of culture, art, and style composed of diverse neighborhoods. The Bowery's bohemian beauty of churning chords escapes the grimy dive of CBGB's to meet the ears of the dirty, dangerous, and destitute. Midtown's Studio 54 is a mecca of over indulgence producing a seductive swirl of drugs, disco, and debauchery. Fifth Avenue of the Upper East Side supplies luxurious style for the elegant elite who parade their wealth with pride. The artist colony of SoHo provides a haven for the offbeat artisans, the flamboyant glam rockers, and the counter-culture weirdos. Tonight the four neighborhoods unite bringing together high society, punk rockers, disco queens, and David Bowie wannabes. (Held at Cherry Canary December 2014)

Super excited to write our first Wild West murder mystery. Here is a sneak preview!

It is 1885 in the great American west; A time and place of unruly adventure, vast and perilous deserts lurking with danger, and infinite opportunities to strike it rich. You have been invited to the small town of Emerald Springs for the annual Summer Celebration at the Double Diamond saloon. Owned by infamous rail baron Cornelius Stratton, the magnificent tavern is a thrilling haven of debauchery, with all the amenities of modern luxury, and all the temptations of a lawless paradise. Inside, valiant buffalo soldiers dance with vivacious vixens of outlaw gangs, corrupt sheriffs sip scorching spirits with pure hearted and mysterious drifters, and sensational showgirls high-kick the morality out of pristinely polite big city socialites, while gunslingers promise showdowns at high noon.

Through the din of braggadocios bluffing at a makeshift poker table, the clanking of well used spurs, and the sound of drained whiskey glasses slamming onto the ornate oak bar, a hauntingly beautiful tune emerges from the player piano. The night’s entertainment is about to begin. The problem is, one of you is a murderer.
