🎻 Please join us in welcoming Mark Jalkut to New Horizons as our new Violin and Viola Faculty and Assistant Director! 🎶
..and of course a shout out to his sweet dogs 🐕 ❤️

Originally from Connecticut, Mark is pursuing degrees in Music Education and Viola Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studies viola under Stephen Wyrczynski. He has also studied violin and viola pedagogy with Mimi Zweig and has taught private lessons through the Jacobs String Academy.

As both a performer and educator, Mark is passionate about fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music in musicians of all ages — values that fit beautifully with what New Horizons is all about.

Outside of music, Mark is a huge club soccer fan, enjoys trying new recipes in the kitchen, loves spending time with his two dogs, and enjoys making music with friends.

We’re excited to have Mark joining our team and can’t wait for our members to learn and grow with him this Fall. Welcome to New Horizons, Mark! 🎻✨

Today we want to take a moment to thank Safe Jassani for everything he has brought to New Horizons as our violin/viola faculty.

Safe has shared so much talent, patience, encouragement, and musicianship with our community, and we have been incredibly lucky to have him as part of the New Horizons family. Our players have learned so much from him, and his impact on the program has truly been felt.

As he heads off to complete his student teaching and finish his degree requirements at the Jacobs School of Music, we are all wishing him the very best of luck in this next chapter. We know he is going to do amazing things, and we can’t wait to see where his talents take him next!

Thank you, Safe, for everything you’ve given to New Horizons. We are so grateful for you and excited for all that’s ahead. 💙 🎻
