Deer Friends released their debut LP today! 14 tracks that immediately feel timeless. Psych-pop blended with surf elements and strong influences from artists like The Kinks and Beach Boys.

Deer Friends release their debut self-titled LP at midnight tonight!

Grand Rapids psych-pop duo Deer Friends are Seth Boles and Tommy Muldowney. The two weave infectious melodies with shaggy guitars, dusty synths, intricate bass lines, and crunchy drums.

My experience in music began in 1997, when I launched Puddlegum, one of the Internet’s first music blogs. I blogged about indie music for roughly ten years, writing daily about new music and music tech.

During this process I became interested in recording (partly because I had a band and we needed a demo). My interest in recording grew, I expanded my recording gear, read many books, recorded bands in my basement, and eventually received formal engineering training at Recording Workshop (Ohio) in 2007. And in 2008, I interned at Pop Machine in Indianapolis. Since then, I have produced and engineered a number of albums, managed an artist (everything from booking shows to promotion), consulted with bands, etc.
