Experience Día de los Mu***os Alabama in a more intimate way.

Join Bare Hands, Inc, Inc on November 1 for Remembrance, a special evening offering guests a meaningful preview of Día de los Mu***os Alabama ahead of the full festival.
Begin the evening with cocktails and mocktails and a curated walk through the Altar Courtyard, where you'll have time to take in the altars, stories, art, and traditions with intention.

As dusk settles in, we'll come together for dinner and music under the evening sky...an intimate night centered on remembrance, connection, and the people and stories we carry with us.

This year, Bare Hands invites you to experience two meaningful days of celebration, culture, and remembrance as we celebrate the 24th Annual Día de los Mu***os Alabama.

Begin the celebration with Remembrance, an exclusive, immersive preview of the 24th Annual Día de los Mu***os Alabama Festival. Enjoy an intimate evening featuring a curated altar tour, light dinner, craft cocktails, and meaningful moments of reflection as we honor the lives and memories of those we love. Bare Hands, Inc is seeking an artist to create the official artwork for Día de los Mu***os Alabama 2026.

The selected artwork will be featured on event posters, merchandise, social media, and marketing materials throughout the year.

We’re looking for a bold, original design inspired by remembrance, culture, community, and celebration.

At Día de los Mu***os Alabama #23, Javi created a stunning live painting on-site that we later raffled off — and once he fully completed the piece, he personally presented it to the winner. Such a special moment. 💀🌼

Día de los Mu***os Alabama #23 — November 2.
What a Night. What a Community.

On November 2, our city came together once again to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives of those we love. Día de los Mu***os Número 23 was filled with everything that makes this tradition so meaningful — vibrant altars, powerful memories, stunning art, and thousands of people moving through the space with intention, love, and respect.

From the marigolds to the music, from the families building altars for the first time to those who have returned year after year — the beauty was everywhere. 💛✨

To our volunteers, artists, altar builders, performers, vendors, sponsors, and every single person who showed up with heart: thank you. You help us keep this tradition alive in Birmingham, and you remind us why this night matters so much.

We are still in awe — of the turnout, the stories shared, the community built, and the healing that happens when we gather like this.

Here’s to 23 years of honoring our ancestors together… and to the continued growth of Día de los Mu***os and the future home of Bare Hands Community Arts Center.
