The Alabama Ballet is the state’s premiere professional ballet company. The company has achieved national prominence as one of only eight ballet companies in the world permitted by the Balanchine Trust to perform Balanchine's Nutcracker™. The Alabama Ballet promotes the development of classical and contemporary ballet through high quality performances, dance education and community outreach. Education and outreach activities include CityDance, which provides 16 weeks of dance training for youth from the city of Birmingham and Jefferson County.

The curtain rises on opening night of American Portraits tonight at 7:30 PM, and we can't wait to share these five works with you.

Before you head downtown, a few things to know:

✨ We're in the BJCC Theatre, not the Concert Hall. The main entrance is off the BJCC Green.
✨ Doors open one hour before each performance.
✨ The BJCC has a strictly enforced clear bag policy.
✨ The venue is cashless, including concessions and our Boutique in the lobby.
