Close up of my last four mandalas💚
My latest design 🥰
Taking a short break from painting to come up with 20 new mandala designs.
Here’s the one I finished today💚
Today’s Mandala!💚
I’ve been working hard on some new designs. Here’s what I came up with today 🥰
One of my last commissions of 2021.
Thank you to all my clients who have trusted me to capture their loved ones. It has been such an honor! 😊
Most winter mornings I sit by the fire with a cup of coffee to write. No expectations just simply a release of words.
Sometimes there’s tears for the things I’ve tried so hard to change. Other times gratitude fills the page for all that brings joy to my heart.
My journal is where I’m honest with myself. The good, the bad and the ugly. It’s all there uncensored.
Do you journal?
Her first layer is finished!
She’ll sit a few weeks to dry while I work on a few commission pieces.
The wait will give me time to ponder backgrounds.
A glimpse of what’s on my easel.
2010. I was working as a hairdresser when a new client of mine asked what my hobbies were. Simple enough question but I was embarrassed to admit I had none.
If they would have asked me at 16 I would have spoke about my life long passion for horses and how I’m lucky enough to have a horse of my own. I would have mentioned how I love writing poetry and creating art. Music was really important to me too so I would brought up my favorite band, Nirvana.
In 10 short years I had let go of my passions for a life I was never meant to live.
Things began to change for me after that. I found the courage to seek a better life. A life that would feed my soul instead of deplete it.
I created art and wrote poetry. I started gardening to reconnect with nature. A stray chicken would show up needing a home. She would also need friends so one chicken grew to a flock of chickens.
2010 was the year I Woke Up, the year I started on my journey to me.
This is one of the pieces I created during that time of awakening.

I had over 40 paintings wrapped up in my closet.😳 😬
These lovelies will start to be added to my shop Friday the 15th.💚

Throwback to March of 2019
This hens name was Ducky and she laid blue eggs 🥰
Fun Fact: I’ve been a chicken keeper most of my life. I was about 7 when I got my first chicken and I named her Julie. She lived out her days at the farm where I kept my horse.
Now I have 19 hens running around my farm😳
If you’re interested in this painting I just listed it in my shop. Jenniferpichler.com/shop
Making the digital version as close to the original has always been a challenge.
Each time I do it I get a little bit better.
Practice makes Progress 🤘
First layer down. I’m going to give her a break to dry and start refining her late next week.
I used every moment in the studio yesterday to finish my painting.
Today it’s clean up and get ready for the next canvas. Nothing like a fresh palette:)
Charcoal self portraits.
I started drawing in charcoal as a way to rest my hand between paintings. I didn’t expect to fall so hard for this medium.

I’ve been busy photographing flowers all summer. I use them as reference for paintings.
Working with Prussian Blue in my latest floral paintings.
I was introduced to this blue 7 years ago and it has been one of my favorites ever since. I always reach for it when I want a cool blue.
This little 6”x8” has been sitting in my closet half finished since June. My original color choices were all wrong and I intended to paint over it. I’m so glad I decided to give it another try with new colors, I love how it turned out.

It’s the little details that help the painting come to life.
I like to think of the under painting like the foundation. I don’t move on to color until I feel it’s sold.
16 hours in 30 seconds!
In my studio I set myself free.
A safe place to grow closer to me.
The hard way.
Not taking the time to refresh my varnishing skills and using a new product.
The results, a streaky finish, a few tears and a lesson learned the hard way.
I did however discover a way to fix my mistake, thank goodness:)

A little self love in the studio.
I’ve been using a new way to capture my process, a digital camera and a timed shutter release. File size is way smaller compared to my old camcorder and no video evidence that I sing along to the music;)
