FEATURED MEMBER: introducing Selina Chan! She is a full time artist, and spends most of her time creating pieces in the studio. Selina loves including dogs, seals, nautical vibes, and anything Maine inspired in her work!
When describing how she first got into clay, Selina stated “I took a semester of ceramics in high school and loved it. My teacher always told me I should’ve gone to art school, but I didn’t listen to her. I went on to business school and worked in various jobs before going back to art. I started Tealight Studios for my photography/paintings and later transitioned to making dog accessories. It wasn’t until 2022 that I went full time doing that and eventually realized I wanted to tap into something more creative. I took my first class at Mill Pond in April 2024 and haven’t left since!”
Why does Selina like Mill Pond Ceramics Studio? “The community! I’ve made so many friends here. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.”
Selina has only been working with clay for two years and has already come so far. Her secret? “Practice, practice, practice. 1000 cylinders before you move on to the next thing”
