Congratulations to all the senior graduates tonight and especially my senior art students! I wish I would have been able to snap a picture of all of them tonight , but wasn’t able to catch them all. I will miss you guys next year. Have a great summer and enjoy this next chapter of your journey!

We had our end of the year art show last week with an awesome turn out crowd and hundreds of pieces on display. One of our underclassmen created cartoon portraits at her Doodle Booth which was a hit! The library had old chairs that a class painted and we auctioned off. Seniors had the opportunity to showcase their work individually at tables- we wish you all the best seniors!! It was a great end to the school year.

So today wrapped up our “Cardboard Chair Challenge” with the final presentation to our building principal and assistant principal. The sculpture students looked at a variety of chairs from different time periods in history - worked as a team to construct prototypes and then a final chair design that would be usable by a human—- that human would be their principals! The decorative designs of the chairs were inspired by styles of art. Today sculpture students gathered to see how their chairs stood up to the challenge. I’d say this day was a success… with some smiles and laughs included! Huge thank you to Mr Sturgeon and Mr Fuller for being good sports and their bravery for trying out the chairs!
