Sova Theater Sova Dance & Puppet Theater celebrates humanity and the environment by engaging audiences through live performance combining the puppetry, dance, and mask!

We are now offering a variety of online programming, especially for Winter 2020/21. Then we are booking small, in person, socially distanced outdoor performances, storytelling and workshops for Spring/Summer 2021.

ARTIST TALK: THIS SUNDAY!!
Legend of the Old State House Puppets
With Museologist/Puppeteer Robert Laughlin
July 19 at 2:30pm, 21 Main Street, Kent, CT

Robert Laughlin will share the behind-the-scenes process of creating a site-specific
puppet troupe for a museum. He performed with Sadecky’s Puppets, visiting schools
and libraries in nine states, and has worked with museums for more than 35 years,
including Old Sturbridge Village and the Lutz Children’s Museum. In 1999, a story he
created for Connecticut’s Old State House premiered, combining Connecticut’s famous
Legend of the Charter Oak with Joseph Steward’s Museum of Curiosity, which opened
inside the State House in 1796. Designed and directed by Rolande Duprey (UCONN
Puppetry MFA), the production ran for more than 400 performances in Hartford.
