We work together to give children a complete music, theatre, and dance experience in a fun, yet professional, environment. This summer we are excited for our 2.5 week camp and performance "Once Upon a Time." This musical has an original script that weaves together our favorite fairytale characters and songs. Here are some brief bios for each of our teachers:
Christie Poyfair studied Music, Dance,
and Theater at Brigham Young University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. She grew up dancing alongside her mom and older sisters as they taught dance lessons in their town. Christie began studying voice and theater in high school and received several awards for different characters in musicals and plays. She has taught Musical Dance Theater for seven years. This is what Christie loves to do!! She is so excited to work with these amazing teachers and see children fall in love with performing like she did. Hannah Bland has had a passion and love for dance her entire life. She has spent the past 28 years training in professional dance classes and has training in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, tap, clogging, ballroom, and many world dance genres. Hannah graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in Dance. She has a great love for teaching, and has taught all ages including many different genres of dance in studios in Washington and Idaho. She has been part of several dance companies as well as directing one while earning her bachelor's degree. Since graduation, she has begun choreographing for drama productions starting with a community play, The Wizard of Oz. She’s been the choreographer for triple threat for the past 5 years and can’t wait for another season! Amelia Schmidt, new to the Centerton area this year, is a lifelong student and teacher of music. A graduate of California State University Stanislaus, she plays the piano, violin, and is a classically trained opera singer. She finds joy as a private piano and vocal instructor in the Centerton area. Amelia is a former piano accompanist and singer of Opera Modesto and has served on the Summer Opera Institute staff as an accompanist and coach for the past four years. She was a vocal coach for the institute’s international award winning miracle movie, The Race, which has now won over 80 film awards worldwide. She performed with the Opera company as a member of the chorus in Madame Butterfly, Carmen, and performed the role of Countess Ceprano in Rigoletto. Amelia is very active in her community and church, including having served on the Oakdale Educational Foundation board, and regularly contributing as the musical director for Oakdale High School Drama Department. Their most recent performances she directed include, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, and The Secret Garden. She also was the music and vocal coach for Gallo Center for the Art’s youth program, Yes! Company’s, presentation of Singing in the Rain. She is thrilled to be here in Arkansas and joining the Triple Threat team this summer! Veronica has had a love of theater and has been involved with it for about 14 years. With community, high school and winning state theater, with her school, and individual contemporary scene, she continued her love of it in college. She has also had small parts in a few movies. Veronica has studied theater at Utah State University and is continuing her college career with NWACC. Her favorite performances have been the Wizard of Oz, Xanadu, Beauty and the Beast; portraying Mrs. Potts and Wait Until Dark playing Suzie Hendrix. She has been working with children for 4 years and has loved seeing them learn and grow. As her major is teaching, she is excited to continue working with kids and seeing them come out of their shell!
