MEET THE STAFF: Robyn Wilson, Office Manager
~
Robyn lives in the McGee’s Crossroads area where she grew up on her family’s farm. She lives with her husband, Bryan, and their two dachshunds (Charlie and Waffles). She has a 20 year old son, Seth, and an 18 year old daughter, Sydney. She is a part time home baker and enjoys going to Myrtle Beach, watching Friends and following New Kids on the Block!
Robyn was introduced to the dance world when her daughter began taking dance at Steps on Stage seven years ago. Sydney has been a recreational and competitive dancer, so Robyn has learned all the ins and outs of dance and made invaluable friends at the studio. She has worked in the Johnston County school system for 11 years and has experience working with children and parents on a daily basis as well as working with an office staff.
As Sydney has now graduated, Robyn is so excited to be able to stay with the Steps family to encourage the other dancers and parents and continue to be a part of this wonderful studio.

MEET THE STAFF: Taliah Vanderbeek-Hoskins, Dance Teacher, Choreographer and Artistic Director
~
Taliah Jade Vanderbeek, raised in Willow Spring, North Carolina, began her early training with Marilyn Chappell at Holly Springs School of Dance.  When she went to high school her eyes were opened to the possibility of having a dance career when she started training under Richard Patten at West Johnston High School.  She was later recruited by Cheri Crabtree at Steps on Stage Academy of Performing Arts and began competing.  She was an award-winning competition team member under two teams and began her professional career performing under Elevate Performance and Production Company.

She went on to further her dance education and graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Carolina University (ECU) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance Performance.  While at ECU, she had the opportunity to work with many professional companies including BodyTraffic, Parsons Dance, Koresh Dance Company, and Inaside Chicago Dance Company, and was cast in multiple student, guest artist, and facility pieces.  Taliah attended the Joffery Ballet School New York City Jazz and Contemporary Intensive where she was cast and performed in works choreographed by Jeremy McQueen and Andre Tyson at Symphony Space in New York City.

After graduation, Taliah returned to Steps on Stage to begin her teaching career full-time and found her true calling.  She became the Artistic Director in 2018 and since then has shaped and elevated not only the vision of the studio but the dancer's confidence, technique, and overall performance qualities.  Under her direction, the studio and her choreography have received multiple overall awards, choreography awards, and character awards.  Taliah’s most recent success was her duet Sand winning 1st overall and the highest intermediate score at 2022 Southeast Showdown Nationals Competition.  Taliah is passionate about teaching the art of dance, building confidence and strength in her students, and inspiring them to go for their dreams.
