Haunted Vermont

Haunted Vermont Official Page of Haunted Vermont Learning Legends and Lore since Aug. 26th 2012. On August 26th 2012, Paul Dulski setup the Haunted Vermont Facebook.

As back then, you could find practically any other States with the word “Haunted” in front of it. Or find the Ghost Hunting Communities. However there are numerous sites, books, videos and now podcasts that feature stories of the beloved, yet Dark Mysterious Green Mountains. The Mission for Haunted Vermont? Have all the stories, information, evidence which was captured by us. Or submitted by the P

aranormal world as yourself, helping to create the slogan, “Together We Can Learn”. But how does the page help with finding or sharing stories? Simple, my followers and I should have heard a lot of stories from different Counties back in the day. To prove the stories is completely different, usually more than one person should have heard or have seen the same thing or maybe another story. We try collecting many Haunted Locations, Myths or Legends that have came and gone from Vermont.

“I want my followers to help me and others learn more about Vermont’s dark hidden history.” - Paul

During this time, Paul was part of his group among other friends. Vermont Investigators of Paranormal Activity, VIPA for short. It started off with three people. By the time we went on hiatus, we were at four. Below is places we had the chance to investigate.

* Baird Cemetery, Chittenden, VT
* Horton Cemetery, Chittenden, VT
* Abandoned Church. Pittsford, VT
* Hubbardton Battlefield, Hubbardton, VT
* East Hubbardton Cemetery, Hubbardton, VT
* Emily's Bridge, Stowe, VT
* Abandoned School, Brandon, VT

Haunted Vermont used to be teamed up with local people from some time, giving the use of the brand and creating some interesting content. Whether it was for entertainment purpose, or just to allow others to be able to check out places with permission from care takers.

* DeadFi, helped be part of their anthology at the time, Dead Static. No longer available on YouTube.
* Obscure Vermont, Chad and I first got together when we did the public Event. Picking up the Bones.
* Paranormal Investigators of New England (PINE), we’d help each other either by myself sending clients there way or they’d invite myself to Investigate with them. In 2018, we tried to make this into a podcast format. We want to bring Vermont stories, legends, interviews, and more in one place that is easy to find. So please check out our Podcast if you haven’t. We are always open to suggestions, to help bring you better content. Right now we offer the following topics or categories.

* Seasons 1-3 (4th Coming Soon…)
* Listeners Ghost Stories
* Interviews with Authors, Events, Groups and More. We’d like to also point out if you are interested in sharing YOUR story, please Leave a Voicemail. And if you’d like to support us to help bring Videos, you can also Support the Show. Finally, as of 2019 we took another approach with Haunted Vermont. We debuted a Kickstarter Campaign to help bring our short film ideas to life, which are available to Watch for FREE on YouTube. The Passenger: A Vermont Urban Legend is based on the Lady In White tale located on Marble Street. Located in West Rutland, where the road also connects to the infamous town of Whipple Hollow, where legend has it, it used to be a well known town during the Marble Industry days. However one day, the town folks packed up and left. Marble Street also passes the West Rutland Marsh, where even ghostly voices are said to be heard traveling upon the swamp itself. Terror Trail is loosely based off the Man-Eating Stone, and a hint of disappearing wearing RED. Like Paula Welden was last seen wearing, while the other tale within is a nod to the case of Paul Jepson who mysteriously vanished from his mothers truck. Terror Trail II continues the story this October ’22.

Where Did the Man-eating Stone Come From?

What if Joseph Citro wasn't the first person to mention this strange Man-eating Stone. Forever entombed and bounded to the land of Glastenbury Mountains where it preys upon those that either stand, or sit on it. Vanishing the victims forever to lost time. Without a single scream leaving there mouths.

Rachel Burton died at the age of 21, February 1st 1790. It didn’t stop there, her former husband. Isaac. Remarried, but by 1792, his newly wedded wife fell ill. Isaac thought that Rachel had came back to life, targeting none other than the new maiden for revenge. From there, Isaac went and had Rachel re-dug up to make sure she was not “feeding”. Since this was yet again, another time before embalming dead bodies, they kept the blood within the dead bodies. This situation allows us to intensely reflect on how much we’ve “upgraded” as a society since the 18th century. It also shows how far we’ve come up to now.

According to some people, it was believed that tuberculous was the cause of Rachel’s death. Like other cases throughout Vermont. It’s that disease that we nowadays face, but at least we have gotten more medical advancements. To take more actions to help prevent it. Isaac and the helpers carried on. They were met with a not so decayed of a body, with blood dripping from the mouth. As if she just came back from “feeding” on a victim. From here, they gathered her organs and transferred them to Jacob’s Mead Forge, to be burned. Ending the “curse” that fell upon the Isaac’s new wife. Soon after, Isaac wife had gotten better, proving that the “curse” had been lifted.

As of 2021, Manchester had a marker made for the entrance of Factory Point Cemetery. Just enough to face East, where if you look closely. You can actually spot the newly made grave for Rachel Burton. Look carefully during the panning of the video above from sign to tree. From there, just keep to the right once entered to find the Old Section. It’s just a short distance away. It is shy from a couple feet away from the tree that helps cover some of the graves. Making the old section that much more interesting.

Feel free to check out the Interview I conjured up with author, Thomas D’Agostino. Photography by Arlene Nicholson. As we talked about the Vermont cases of Vampirism. Also if you’d like to learn more than what I’ve mentioned, please check out his book entitled. A History of Vampires in New England.

• Paul Jepson was never found nor solved. But tons of theories circled he was either hit and taken to be covered up. Or he was abducted.

• Martha Jeanette Jones was hitchhiking from Bondsville, VT to Manchester Center when picked up. Brought to Rhinebeck, NY. Then was found under a different name working at a restaurant in Accontink, VA, as a waitress. Under the name. Jo Ann Winters.
