Okayyyy… I totally get now why Kathy was so excited about this pattern. 😄🌲

The Henderson has so many fun little details without feeling super intimidating to sew. Hidden zipper details, comfy straps, mesh pockets, clip points for all the random stuff we carry around… it just feels like a bag you’d actually grab all the time.

And honestly, one of my favorite parts is that if you’re using the Woodland Wander Box materials, you don’t need a ton of interfacing. 🙌 Just foam or fleece for the back panel and strap if you want a little extra structure. You could even skip that too depending on your machine or how slouchy you want your bag to feel.

It also feels really approachable for adventurous beginners, which I love. We specifically picked materials that play nicely with domestic machines because sewing should be fun, not a wrestling match with your machine. 😂

The Henderson pattern is included with the Woodland Wander Box preorder along with all the coordinated materials to make your own squatchy adventure bag.

Kathy and I have poured so much love, laughter, and “wait… what if we added THIS too?” energy into this collaboration, and I am so excited to finally show you what’s inside.

Each box includes the brand-new Henderson Daypack pattern by K.dill Handmade plus a full coordinated kit of fabrics, hardware, webbing, zipper supplies, tags, and all the little details to make the project come together beautifully.

Well… after several days of voting, there still is not a clear winner over here.

I was hoping to make the decision easier by sharing a little sneak peek of one of the Woodland Wander fabric designs in BOTH color palettes before pre-orders open tomorrow… but now I am not sure if I made things more difficult instead. 🤦🏼‍♀️

To me, Pacific Trail feels outdoorsy and very Pacific Northwest adventure-inspired.

Wildflower Summer feels bright, playful, and like hiking to a waterfall in the sunshine.

Honestly, I still keep going back and forth. Does seeing these designs change your original vote at all? 👀

The Pacific Trail palette has all the moody Pacific Northwest adventure vibes.

The Wildflower Summer palette feels bright, playful, and like hiking to a waterfall in the sunshine.

Okay besties....we need your help!

The Woodland Wander Box colors are down to TWO final palettes, and we genuinely cannot decide which direction to go.

One feels very Pacific Northwest forest trail. The other is brighter, punchier, and full of wildflower summer energy. Both were inspired by photos I took around my hometown of Bend, Oregon, which felt very fitting for our little Sasquatch bagmaking box.

So now we need to know…

Last Fall, my friend Kathy and I somehow ended up deep in conversation about sewing, bagmaking, and our mutual obsession with Sasquatch.

Which honestly tracks because we both live in pretty squatchy areas. Kathy is in Tennessee, I’m over here in the Pacific Northwest, and apparently both of us were destined to become overly invested in whimsical woodland creatures. 🌲 Also… fun fact: one of the favorite movies in BOTH of our families is the 80s cult classic, Harry and the Hendersons.

Somewhere along the way, one of us was basically like, “Okay wait… why have we NOT made a Sasquatch bagmaking box yet?” And from that point on, the Woodland Wander Box was officially in motion.

This Spring, we met up again at Sew Expo in Puyallup, WA and found this giant Sasquatch statue. Naturally, we HAD to take photos with it. Except apparently I’m the clumsy one in this friendship because I kept accidentally smacking my head into Sasquatch’s elbow while we were trying to pose. 😂 We were laughing so hard, and honestly I think that was the exact moment we decided our Woodland Wanderer needed to have a fun, whimsical vibe.

A little outdoorsy, thoughtfully curated, and full of creative fun.
