Introducing our final new BRDie for Season 21, Carmelita Brown! ✨

Carmelita, also known as Carme, has been dancing since she was 3 years old. From the small town White Salmon, Washington, she trained in ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, but ultimately fell in love with contemporary dance. During the pandemic, Carme took a break from dance not knowing if she would return. She ended up finding dance on her own terms her second year of college, and committed to a BFA in Dance at Western Washington University her third year. Dance is a special form of communication for Carme and has allowed her to connect with herself and others through it. Now entering her final year of university, she is so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of BRD and dive deeper into the art community of Bellingham. When Carme is not dancing, she loves to play chess, go on adventures, and spend time with loved ones.

If Carme were a bird, she’d be a blue heron! 🪺

Introducing one of our new BRDies for Season 21, Abigale Lipson 💫

Abigale grew up dancing in Riverton Wyoming, where she learned that movement is an integral component of her life. She later moved to Casper Wyoming, where she earned an Associate’s degree in Dance Performance from Casper College. From there, she moved to Huntsville Texas, to earn a Bachelors of Performing Arts in Dance. During her time in Texas, she also had the pleasure of dancing with NMD2, where she got to work with numerous choreographers of the greater Houston area. Now, she is relocating to Bellingham, and is so excited to join this season with BRD! Abigale is so grateful for the dance community that has brought her this far, and cannot wait to explore the curiosities and discoveries that it will continue to bring!

If Abby were a bird, she would be either a kiwi or a kookaburra! 🪶

Bellingham Repertory Dance is a nonprofit dancer-run collective. We are seeking new members for our 2026-2027 season and we’d love to see you there!

Sliding scale cost: $15-25

Dancers are encouraged to register online in advance but are also welcome to register in person at the audition. Go to ➡️ bhamrep.org/audition to register and for more info about our collective!

The audition class is open to community members, but auditioners will get priority if space becomes limited.
