Dean Allen Productions Productions, Promotions & Public Relations I wanted to give some background and my place in the Industry. I couldn't escape it even if I wanted to!!

I have been in the Underground Detroit Electronic Dance Music Scene since the summer of 1999 and still going!! Through the years I have been diverted elsewhere however, the Scene, Music, and Love has always brought me back!! This is apart of me and always will be. I have worked and promoted with some of these event/promotion companies: Paxahau, Detroit Deep Sessions and DTownSound Productions. I h

ave developed a close ear and a passionate heart for good Electronic Music. I have dabbled in the Production/DJ scene throughout the years on occasion. As the scene drives me further with my imagination at the ready, I want to step foot in the scene as a upcoming Artist.

The Mayor of Detroit has officially declared this week (May 18 - 25) Detroit Techno Week.

In a proclamation made yesterday (May 18), Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield recognised the cultural impact of Movement Music Festival, which draws thousands of visitors annually across Memorial Day Weekend (the last Monday of May) to celebrate the city as the birthplace of techno.

"Detroit Techno Week recognises the weeklong spirit of music, culture and creativity that surrounds the festival and celebrates the city that made it possible," her statement reads.

In a statement posted via Instagram, Movement's organisers said they were "honoured" to receive the proclamation. ⁠"This recognition belongs to the artists, the pioneers, the dancers, the dreamers, and the people of Detroit who continue to push the culture forward every single day," they said.

"Born from Detroit’s underground, techno has always been more than music. It is innovation born from imagination. It is rhythm shaped by resilience. A sound that traveled from warehouse floors and radio waves in our city to dance floors across the world.⁠"
